When I close my eyes I see…
…thousands of shaking, pale hands shielding themselves from me…
and a child’s screaming ringing in both ears..
Familiar and awful… always the loudest and always fading.

"Didn’t I build a house, a home, didn’t I?
(You did, you did)
Didn’t I raise her all alone, didn’t I?
(You did, you did)
Then they took her from me
Stole my Sera
They’re to blame
Have I failed my daughter?
Then let the father die!
And let the Monster RIIIIIIIISE!”
~Let the Monster Rise from Repo the Genetic Opera (tweeked the lyrics to fit Pitch/Kozmotis here)
I’ve been wanting to do a drawing piece based on this song with Pitch in it. Because it really fits him so well and this song is just epic!(and the voices little voices in the song sounded exactly how I imagined the Fearlings might sound) I wanted to depict Pitch’s rise and Kozmotis’s fall in a way that’s not obvious but hinted at enough that you get the idea. Since butterflies are apparently his thing, the little golden butterfly represents Kozmotis and how he is now trapped within the darkness while Pitch has this wing-like warms that are torn and deformed, representing the tattered remains coming together and forming a monster that has risen from within the darkness. And I think I’ll just stop here because I think you all get the idea.
